How did Coffee Ink come about?

This blog was born on a rainy Monday morning (11 February 2008) when I finally decided that I need a separate blog to post all of my creations and craft finds. I was nearing the end of my summer holidays and being the usual procrastinator that I am (never will learn), I put off creating this blog. Oh, I had a number of reason / excuses for that. ie, which blog provider should I use, what should I call it, what to put inside, how should it look, and most importantly, ‘will I maintain this blog?’. I am prone to abandoning most of my projects either before they’ve even materialised or a couple of weeks after they’re done. So this time, I am going to try my absolute hardest to keep it up and running with regular updates.

Who am I?

Online, I frequently use the username bubbles / wyvern. I am currently a university undegraduate studying in Adelaide, Australia. I love the environment here and the friendly people. I am determined to make the most out of my time here in Australia to explore the sight and sounds and experience the life. Originally, I am from Malaysia, a land full of good food that you cannot find anywhere else. =)

So am I a crafty person?

I am not sure if I really am or not. I like to give things a more personal touch to them. Add designs on so that they become unique. I do not particularly like stuff that are mass produced because it lacks individuality. Therefore I always try to add a little something to it after buying them. Apart from that, I also like to make things out of old stuff. I try to minimise the need for buying craft supplies by using things that are already available on hand, like making new magnets out of old, spicing up an old jam jar with some decorations etc. So basically, my things do not always have the professional finish of others but there is a much more homey and personal feeling to it. Plus, it is much cheaper. I am after all still and student and therefore have very limited finances.
